updated: Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 9:36am – St. Louis police identify the deceased as 32-year-old Otis Roberson of north St. Louis County. The officers involved in the shooting are a 56-year-old man with 33 years service and a 51-year-old man with 22 years service. Both officers have been placed on three days of administrative leave, which is standard department procedure in such cases.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – There was a deadly shooting at the Mardi Gras celebration in Soulard, Saturday afternoon.

Police say it happened around 2:15 p.m. near 9th and Barton.

A large crowd was celebrating when a single gunshot rang out. Two St. Louis city police officers working security went to the scene and found a man with a gun.

Police say the man was ordered to drop the gun but did not. Police opened fire and the man died.
