An Introduction to Joel Skousen’s “World Affairs Brief” – Daily News Headlines

Alternative news journalist and world affairs analyst Joel Skousen is a frequent guest on Coast to Coast Radio and I have listened with keen interest to many of his interviews. As the events of the world darken and escalate, it’s helpful to get a clear point of view which is not intent on keeping the truth from the American people, but is focused instead on revealing it. Here’s a sampler of recent headlines gleaned from Joel Skousen’s news website:

After boosting trade pacts, Hillary Clinton gets millions from speeches to traders

posted by askousen – Wednesday, May 20 2015
…In addition, the Biotechnology Industry Organization paid her $235,000 for a speech in San Diego, and the Advanced Medical Technology Association paid her $265,000 to speak in Chicago. Both groups have joined the broad ranks pushing for passage of the measures over the last couple of years. “I suppose that those in favor of the free-trade agreements know that when push comes to shove, Hillary Clinton is going to be on their side anyway,” said Craig Holman, who lobbies Congress for the consumer watchdog group Public Citizen. “Providing her with a lot of money is one sure way to keep her in their camp. . . . That’s how you buy influence: Find ways to hand cold cash over to the Clinton family.” Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, has made the speaking tour a cash cow for more than a decade, and separately he made about $13 million, bringing the former first couple’s total to $25 million from speeches in the 14 1/2-month period. — McClatchy News

Katie Pavlich: The protected, connected liberal media elite

posted by askousen – Wednesday, May 20 2015
…This time, it’s former Clinton White House communications hack and current ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos. Stephanopoulos was busted by the Washington Free Beacon last week for donating a total of $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation without disclosure to his employer or the audiences he serves. The revelation came less than one week after Stephanopoulos conducted a harsh interview with Clinton Cash author Peter Schweizer, where he accused him of having a lack of evidence to support his claims that Hillary Clinton traded political favors for donations to the Clinton Foundation during her time as secretary of State. Stephanopoulos defended the Clintons and the Clinton Foundation and claimed ABC News had done a thorough investigation and found no wrongdoing – all while hiding his own donations to the organization. ABC hasn’t announced any plans to reprimand Stephanopoulos – after all, he was just helping to protect the environment and fund AIDS research. — The Hill

Rand Paul: I plan to do ‘everything humanly possible’ to try stop the Patriot Act

posted by askousen – Tuesday, May 19 2015
…He said he could demand 60 votes and not give consent to proceed – “that I will do, so I will do a formal filibuster.” “Whether or not that means I can go to the floor – some of that depends on what happens, because – you have to get to the floor when the floor allows you to come, so whether that happens or not, I will filibuster the Patriot Act, and I’ll do everything I can to try to adhere to the courts – the courts have now said the bulk collection of records is illegal,” he said. “They should stop immediately.” — Washington Times

Stephanopoulos, ABC have not fully disclosed Clinton ties: Schweizer

posted by askousen – Tuesday, May 19 2015
…If Stephanopoulos had disclosed his donations to the very foundation I was there to talk about, perhaps it would have put the aggressive posture of his interview with me in context. But he didn’t. And even though he has apologized to his viewers for keeping this information from both his audience and his bosses, there is much that Stephanopoulos has yet to disclose to his viewers. Indeed, far from being a passive donor who strokes Clinton Foundation checks from afar, a closer look reveals that Stephanopoulos is an ardent and engaged Clinton Foundation advocate. — USA Today

Mainstream media news anchors just can’t help lying all the time, it seems. Mere months after NBC News anchor Brian Williams was outed for utterly fabricating a long list of sensational news stories, ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulis has been exposed as a Clinton crime family operative who donated $50,000 to the Clinton Foundation and then deliberately withheld that information from his employer and ABC News viewers, reports Politico. — Natural News

Osama bin Laden was killed with help of Pakistanis, who held 9/11 mastermind prisoner at Abbottabad

Throughout his account, Hersh maintains, as many skeptics of the account have in recent years, that it “just made no sense that bin Laden was living in Abbottabad,” a military stronghold that is home to the nation’s equivalent of the West Point military academy, without the help of the Pakistanis. — NY Daily News

The Killing of Osama bin Laden

posted by askousen – Friday, May 15 2015
It’s been four years since a group of US Navy Seals assassinated Osama bin Laden in a night raid on a high-walled compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The killing was the high point of Obama’s first term, and a major factor in his re-election. The White House still maintains that the mission was an all-American affair, and that the senior generals of Pakistan’ s army and Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI) were not told of the raid in advance. This is false, as are many other elements of the Obama administration’s account. The White House’s story might have been written by Lewis Carroll: would bin Laden, target of a massive international manhunt, really decide that a resort town forty miles from Islamabad would be the safest place to live and command al-Qaida’s operations? He was hiding in the open. So America said. — Seymour Hersh/London Review of Books

…The problem, he said, is that U.S. nuclear weapons sites have moved little since the Cold War. Plans to create mobile defense systems that can be moved and hidden were likewise scrapped in efforts to reduce the U.S. nuclear arsenal. “We’re just not hiding them,” Fisher said, noting that even a hobbyist using Google Earth could spot most of the land-based nuclear sites in the United States. — Epoch Times

posted by askousen – Friday, May 15 2015
The war in Syria continues to drag on, with a recent and renewed vigor demonstrated behind an opposition long portrayed as fractured and reflecting a myriad of competing foreign interests. Chief among these competing interests, the public has been told, were the US and Saudis on one side, backing so-called “moderate rebels,” and Turkey and Qatar on the other openly backing Al Qaeda and its various franchises including the Islamic State (ISIS). — Land Destroyer blog

A number of RAF jets have been scrambled to intercept two Russian long-range bombers off northern Scotland, the latest in a series of provocative operations by the country’s air force. Judicial Watch: TSA pat downs at 3 airports ‘violated,’ ‘humiliated’ passengers

posted by askousen – Tuesday, May 12 2015
…”That we had to fight and sue in court to get the TSA to disclose these shocking complaints shows the TSA is more interested in a cover-up than in addressing the problem that its employees violate innocent travelers too often, sexually or otherwise,” charged Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “With more than 56,000 employees and a $7.7 billion budget, the TSA can’t be trusted to its job of securing air travel. [Americans] simply trying to board a plane should not have to worry about being assaulted by federal employees working for TSA.” — Washington Examiner
