I hate to say this, but before we all barrel on into New Hampshire this week, there is a VERY SERIOUS and illegal action taken by the political campaign of Ted Cruz which has to be addressed, and in short order. The Cruz campaign cheated to win Iowa. They mailed out a flyer before the caucus which LIED to the people of Iowa, telling them they had committed a “Voting Violation,” if they had not attended a caucus in the past, when there is NO SUCH LAW on the books in Iowa regarding caucus attendance.
Iowa Secretary of State RE: Cruz ‘Voting Violation’ Flyer: “There is no such thing as an election violation related to frequency of voting.”
The problems emerging from the illegal tactics used by the Cruz campaign to win the Iowa Caucus can’t be glossed over. Laws exist to prevent this kind of illegal nonsense from taking place in presidential campaigns. Ted Cruz’s campaign sold snake oil to the people of Iowa who received these goofy fraudulent flyers. The issue has to be examined and the caucus results on the GOP side may need to be tossed out altogether.
Are we going to sit around and watch candidates cheat to get their wins in these early test states? Has it gotten that bad? Trump might be right. he may have been cheated out of a fair win in the caucus. The results of the Iowa Caucus might need to be nullified. Has this ever happened before? Would the caucus be held again? What is the legal precedent here?
