50 to 100 million New Health Care Insurance Cancellations Could Come in 2014 Due to Obamacare

CNN, Reporting on October 30th 2013:

The implementation of Obamacare: We had known it was going to be bad, but we really had no idea it would be THIS bad. In my extended family there are at least 6-7 small business owners, and the dinner table discussion for at least a year often included what would happen to local health insurance rates once the law kicked in. At one point a relative flatly stated he would be keeping all of his employees on 30 hours a week or less to make sure he never had to offer health insurance plans for his staff. Since he is kind of the “alpha guy” in the family, most other business owners would follow suit. It was the only way they could afford to stay in business, once Obamacare kicked it. For him, it was either offer health insurance under the new ACA requirements – and go out of business in 3 years  – OR opt out of offering health insurance entirely, and manage to stay afloat. Other business owners all over Oregon have had to make the same grim decision, now that Obamacare is the law of the land.

Now that the roll-out has staggered into effect, with all the odd consequences still unfolding, news analysts predict a “second wave” of health insurance policy cancellations next year, which will be, in effect, a literal tsunami, compared to this year: a staggering 100 to 150 million health insurance policies may be canceled next year by small business owners all over the country. I am wondering if another wave of lay-offs and small business closures is to come in 2014 as the law begins to be implemented across the country. With a weak, wobbly recovery inching along, can America actually afford to implement this law without doing more harm to our economy than good, in the long run?

If you have observed that the implementation of ACA has been a rocky road thus far, just wait until the full brunt of 100 million health insurance policy cancellations hits the economic streets in 2014. I see a fiscal calamity coming in 2014, as the nation struggles to try to actually implement this ill conceived, poorly written, cumbersome health care law.

First Two Months of Obamacare Rollout Brings Barrage of Troubling Headlines

Just as we all look to weather vanes and wind socks to see which way the wind is blowing, I look at news headlines from dozens of sources each day to ascertain which way the wind is blowing in the nation. There is a harsh north wind bearing down on the country due to the complicated snarls and issues surrounding Obamacare, and many I have spoken with privately already believe that the flawed healthcare law has doomed Obama’s second term to useless ‘lame duck‘ status. Here are a few of the headlines and ‘quotable quotes’ from this morning, as the fallout continues to rain down from the first 2 months of Obamacare. This topic is on the lips of everyone writing for almost every newspaper in the country, and the amount of news reporting on the issue is LARGE.

This is not just a biting north wind, this is a gale force wind. From the dozens of reports I have read, here are just a few examples. Especially unnerving is the latest news report that many internet web techs believe the Obamacare website is a lost cause, and is now irreparable.  If this is true, I doubt the troubled  legislation can or will survive the onset of such a severe blow. Adding insult to injury, The Chicago Tribune, from Barack Obama’s beloved home turf is now calling for the repeal of Obamacare.  I’m tempted to call this latest development the “straw that breaks the camel’s back.” We’ll see.

What’s in store – which is not a hard call to make – are months on end of more ridiculous news stories about the White House’s fight to save Obama’s sinking flagship legislation, while many democrats jump ship to save themselves, landing in a sea of $#@%$#$& when they do. The unpopular GOP will continue to shamelessly exploit every new moment when the next piece of the dying law falls off the carcass with a thud, and the sounds of all the ensuing rancor over it will be the loudest sound you hear in the United States until Spring.

[ Funny little back end moments: While I was typing this post Zemanta offered links to keyword phrases just like it always does. Each time I clicked on the phrase “President Barack Obama’s” to link his name to this post, Zemanta dropped the link, and it wouldn’t stick. I had to manually link his name to the article 4 times for it to “take.” Isn’t that interesting? ]

Why Obama Can’t Just Uncancel All Those Insurance Plans

President Obama’s plan to reverse himself and let millions of people keep their health policies—the ones that insurance companies cancelled because don’t meet the Affordable Care Act’s standards—is something like an attempt to unscramble an omelet.”

Obama Proposal Worries Insurers and Regulators

“This decision continues different rules for different policies and threatens to undermine the new market, and may lead to higher premiums and market disruptions in 2014 and beyond,” said Jim Donelon, Louisiana’s insurance regulator and the president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

GOP: Obama knew “keep your plan” promise was deceitful

“When President Obama told Americans they could keep their current health insurance under Obamacare if they liked it, he did not “misspeak,” Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., said Saturday in the weekly Republican address.

Rather, Johnson said, the promise was “fully vetted, coldly calculated and carefully crafted to deceptively sell” the legislation “to a trusting public.”

Sen Ron Johnson: “Millions of Americans are coming to realize that those are your tire tracks on their canceled policies,” Johnson said to the president, accusing Mr. Obama and his Democratic allies in Congress of perpetrating “political fraud” to aid their political goals.”

Obama struggles to save his cherished health law from the clutches of his own administration

President Barack Obama’s health care law risks coming unglued because of his administration’s bungles and his own inflated promises. To avoid that fate, Obama needs breakthroughs on three fronts: the cancellations mess, technology troubles and a crisis in confidence among his own supporters.”

No Hope Left for Obamacare’s Website, Techies Say

“When I visited HealthCare.gov on October 1, that was the worst piece of software I’ve ever experienced in my life,” said Luke Chung, founder and CEO of the software company FMS. “It had nothing to do with too many users. It couldn’t serve one user.”
“What we’ve seen so far is the first set of problems that come up,” he said. “Then you have the next set of problems. It’s one set of issues leading into another.”

Why Divorce Attorneys Will Love Obamacare

“Tom Blumer, a blogger at PJ Media, points out the unintended consequence of what Obamacare will do to marriages and families. He used this calculator from the Kaiser Family Foundation to run the numbers.”

McCain’s stunning flip-flop: Repeal Obamacare

(THE BLAZE) “After repeatedly criticizing senators such as Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) over their crusade to defund Obamacare, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) called for the “total repeal” of the Affordable Care Act on Wednesday.”

It Begins: Major Newspapers in Reid’s and Obama’s Home States Call for Obamacare Repeal

“On Thursday, the president offered an apology and an unworkable and possibly illegal “fix” to his troubled healthcare law. Today, The Chicago Tribune has had enough and wants the president’s signature law repealed.”

Obama: ‘We Fumbled the Rollout’ [ Ya Think??? ] O. M. G.

See http://www.newser.com/story/177580/obama-we-fumbled-the-rollout.html

Back in 2009 and 2010 when the conservative side of America was warning [ loudly ] about what a bad idea it was to https://i2.wp.com/images.sodahead.com/polls/001748059/038199445_Obama_incompetence_xlarge.jpeglet the US government get involved in delivering healthcare, we couldn’t have imagined just HOW BAD it would all be once the damned and ill-fated Affordable Healthcare Act finally rolled out.

More than 50 times in speeches across the nation President Obama faced the American citizenry and promised them:

“If you like your plan – you can keep your plan.”

It’s not just the lie itself that Barack Obama told, repeatedly, to the American people during 2009 and 2010 when this legislation was all being bullied through Congress without a single GOP vote of support – it’s the sheer magnitude and scale upon which this sitting president lied to the American people about Obamacare.

https://i1.wp.com/www.renewamerica.com/images/columns/13/131024caruba.jpgIt strains credulity to look at it all, and it has ruined what ever small shreds of credibility the Obama presidency ever had. Pause to consider: If the US government with all it’s might, resources, and mighty printing presses could not effectively build a website to deliver the shopping options for Obamacare – why in the hell would we EVER believe that the FED could administer the Healthcare program itself  – without the same level of bungling, bumbling, finger pointing and endless lame ass excuses for why it doesn’t work???

Further: If the Obama administration has now decided to hurl a final “Hail Mary” pass and allow people with pre-existing plans to keep those plans for another year, and if the alternative Obamacare plan offers less coverage at a higher rate, as many news outlets are now reporting  – then Obamacare WAS NEVER NEEDED IN THE FIRST DAMN PLACE, and this has all been for NAUGHT.

This law is fast becoming the most preposterous waste of American taxpayer money and the federal government‘s time, talent, resources and energy that I have seen in my lifetime. It ranks right up there with the Iraq War  – a sheer colossus of waste.

When is utter and absolute incompetence an impeachable offense?

World Bank Whistleblower: Fiat Currency US Dollar Is Now Worthless, Will Crash

An honest former official at the World Bank opens her mouth and speaks, stuns the world, and causes this author to wonder: How long will this woman be alive before she is permanently silenced?

This video news report via RT.com news is about a month old, but I feel that what Karen Hudes is saying is VERY MUCH worth hearing. It needs to be shared as well. I was especially interested in hearing Karen’s comment’s about an international “super-entity” which she stated now owns al of the major media outlets of the world, 60% of all market shares and 40% of all hard assets. If this is true then this “super-entity” now effectively controls the assets of the nations of the world. Is she referencing the Illuminati? She made some staggering statements about vast sums of wealth and assets being transferred to the Vatican during this interview, which is jaw-dropping over all.

Ms. Hudes also made an absolutely staggering comment about the amount of gold bullion now in storage in Hawaii by the Bank of Hawaii: 170,000 tonnes, more than the [supposed estimated ] world supply of gold bullion.

Feel free to share.

Obama Administration Should Have Hired Top Web Techies Out of California to Build Obamacare Enrollment Portal

I would have thought it would be common knowledge by now that if one wanted to hire someone, a company, a firm, an internet conglomerate, an association of internet experts, WHAT HAVE YOU, to build a state-of-the-art e-commerce portal, albeit it for the purchase of healthcare plans in this case, the place to go for that kind of technical and internet related expertise is CALIFORNIA.

California is only home to dozens of the very tippity-top internet companies in the world, including  Google, Ebay, and Facebook for starters.  The founder of WordPress also hails from California. There’s a reason that Mark Zuckerberg early on moved his infant company to Palo Alto California. That’s where all the best internet brains are percolating.

Canada….. Really?

AJ Strata ‏@AJStrata 4m

@EdMorrissey #tcot #Obamacare debut polling so badly we may be at start of #ObamacareDeathSpiral http://ow.ly/q480O

I love the Canadians just as much as the next American. I see and visit with traveling Canadians every summer out here on the Oregon coast.  But by no means do I believe they are better web developers than Americans are. Those contracting dollars should have been kept right here at home.

Apparently it hadn’t dawned on the effete intellectuals of the Obama administration that America fairly RULES the internet in terms of technical and creative expertise in web design, IT applications, E-commerce portal development and more.  And then there’s the issue of at least making an appearance that AMERICAN JOBS are important in all of this.  American internet technology experts are among the best on earth. How sad that the Canadian built site had to fail, and in an EPIC manner, before Obama turned to our own best and brightest to try to fix it. What the hell?

A website that can easily handle 20 million visits a day should not have been too tall an order for a proficient web development team. Almost every large commercial site built today handles those kinds of numbers routinely.

Let me get this straight: the federal government can build a spy data center in Bluffdale Utah big and powerful enough to literally consume and “mirror the entire internet” but they can’t build a website for enrollment in Obamacare that can handle 20 million visits per day? That just doesn’t add up.

And since the NSA hot shots are building a gargantuan DATA CENTER in Bluffdale Utah which is literally big enough to “mirror the entire internet” in it’s interior, why the hell didn’t the Obama people turn to their contractors to build the portal?  It only made sense. According to the NSA’s own documents and press releases, the Bluffdale data center is an internet technological wonder in and of itself – paid for with our tax dollars, mind you. Didn’t their contractors have the skills to build the Obamacare portal as well?

I’d like to reiterate my initial doubts about the whole Obamacare behemoth, the same doubts I have had all along. Why should we believe that the federal government can run the American healthcare system better than private enterprise can? The floundering site is just one more bad omen for this program.

BREAKING: Obamacare Will Impose Stiff Financial Penalties On Hospitals Which Provide Free Services to the Poor

I saw this headline on Twitter just a few minutes ago and refused to believe it was real. I went to the report. It’s below. Sounds, looks and reads REAL, which makes this one of the cruelest bureaucratic side effects of implementing Obamacare yet. This is a very bad omen.

“Let them eat cake.”

It’s now:

“Let them bleed to death, or we will impose a hefty fine on your medical practice.”

I have been having an ongoing dialogue about Obamacare with my best friend for about 2 years now. She supports it. i oppose it. I just don’t believe, based on how the federal government runs everything else, that they can do a better job of providing healthcare than private industry can. Not to mention that millions of us [ including many members of Congress ] don’t even know what’s in the bill.

As Nancy Pelosi famously quipped three years back:

“We have to pass the law so we can read it and find out what’s in it.”

Here’s the report:

Healthcare Law to Fine Hospitals That Provide Free Services to Poor

Written by

President Obama’s healthcare law is full of increased costs to taxpayers, in the form of taxes, higher premiums, and of course, fines.

In fact, the healthcare law may punish charitable hospitals for treating uninsured Americans by issuing large fines to those institutions that continue to provide treatment to uninsured Americans.

The Daily Caller reported, “A new provision in Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code, which takes effect under Obamacare, sets new standards of review and installs new financial penalties for tax-exempt charitable hospitals, which devote a minimum amount of their expenses to treat uninsured poor people.”

With approximately 60 percent of American hospitals classified as nonprofit, this can prove to be a substantial amount of money in penalties. Hospitals that fail to meet the new standards could face fines upwards of $50,000.

John Kartch of the Americans for Tax Reform added that the law requires tax-exempt hospitals to regularly prove that they are necessary by filing paperwork with the IRS.

“It requires tax-exempt hospitals to do a community needs survey and file additional paperwork with the IRS every three years. This is to prove that the charitable hospital is still needed in their geographical area — ‘needed’ as defined by Obamacare and overseen by IRS bureaucrats,” said Kartch.

“Failure to comply, or to prove this continuing need, could result in the loss of the hospital’s tax-exempt status. The hospital would then become a for-profit venture, paying income tax — hence the positive revenue score” for the federal government, Kartch said. “Obamacare advocates turned over every rock to find as much tax money as possible.”

Of course, these hospitals are being set up to fail, as the resulting increase in the number of insured Americans as a result of the healthcare law is likely to minimize the need for tax-exempt hospitals. This will result in more hospitals operating as “for–profit” businesses, resulting in more tax money for the government.

“The requirements generally apply to any section 501(c)(3) organization that operates at least one hospital facility,” according to a “Technical Explanation” report of new ObamaCare provisions prepared by the congressional Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) on the day ObamaCare was passed.

Under the law, hospitals must provide details of how and why they administered discounted or free treatment to patients and explain the criteria they used to screen applicants for assistance and what they used to calculate patients’ bills.

“The hospital must disclose in its annual information report to the IRS (i.e., Form 990 and related schedules) how it is addressing the needs identified in the assessment and, if all identified needs are not addressed, the reasons why (e.g., lack of financial or human resources). Each hospital facility is required to make the assessment widely available. Failure to complete a community health needs assessment in any applicable three-year period results in a penalty on the organization of up to $50,000,” according to the JCT report.

Paperwork submitted by the hospitals is reviewed by a representative at the Department of Health and Human Services, who is then responsible for identifying trends in the hospitals’ spending and submitting the data in a report to Congress.

Many in the healthcare field are issuing warnings about how the new requirements will impact the operation of these hospitals.

“Nonprofit hospitals should be advised that the new PPACA requirements will play a significant role in how they operate and report, specifically when it comes to billing and collections for services provided to the uninsured. The new law leaves many gray areas and hospitals themselves will have to establish eligibility criteria for financial assistance. Following the new procedures as best they can will ensure the best chance of maintaining their tax exempt status,” wrote D. Douglas Metcalf, partner at the law firm Lewis and Roca, in a 2013 op-ed entitled, “Will nonprofit hospitals disappear under Obamacare?”

It has oft been asserted that American welfare programs discourage charity, but now the American people witness a law that actually explicitly discourages charity and demands instead compliance with yet another government-run, taxpayer-funded safety net.

And whether Americans can expect any significant progress to arise out of the implementation of ObamaCare seems unlikely. As noted by Hadley Heath of the Independent Women’s Forum, there were over 70 federal means-tested welfare programs operating in 2011, costing more than $900 billion, while 49 million Americans remained impoverished.

Heath addressed the crux of the problem when she wrote, “Advocates of expanding the welfare state equate bigger government with humanitarianism, or charity. But many programs do more harm than good by creating counter-productive incentives and reducing economic growth and opportunity, which sadly keeps today’s poor people poor.”

Even more, as the healthcare law continues to be implemented, it is becoming clear that ObamaCare will not only fail to remedy the plight of the poor, but could also potentially increase the number of Americans considered “impoverished” as companies continue to downsize and reduce many of their employees from full-time to part-time in an effort to save money by not having to comply with the healthcare law.

A Lousy Idea for a Spoof, and NOT Funny: “RFID Chips Issued in Hanna Wyoming As A Part of Obamacare” Fake News Story

Update: The story turned out to be an Onionesque spoof from The National Reporter, and in VERY poor taste I might add. I don’t find the topic of mandatory human RFID chipping funny in the least. It’s something that the darker elements within the US government would no doubt LOVE to mandate. Making a bad joke out of that fact just makes it worse.

Earlier this week I wrote ….

This morning a YT citizen reporter news video pointed to an article from earlier this summer  published by the National Report news blog which states that the town of Hanna Wyoming has been selected as a “test case” for the distribution of mandatory RFID chips to be issued to all welfare recipients, city and local government employees under Obamacare.

The news article states that the mayor of Hanna Wyoming is “on board” with this program, alarming as that sounds. Wyoming is a Christian majority state with a small but fiercely conservative population, and I have SERIOUS doubts that anyone born in Wyoming would sit by quietly and allow themselves to be RFID chipped. I am incredulous over these two corroborating news reports, but I wanted to re-post them anyway and allow readers to dig in and do their own research to ascertain if these reports are true or false. I will update this post with each new piece of evidence I find either way.

RFID Chip Now Being Issued In Hanna, Wyoming As Part Of New “Obamacare” Plan

RFID Chip Technical Info

Here We Can See The Size And Shape Of The New RFID Chip

<NR>The “Obamacare” RFID chips are currently being given a test run on the proud and patriotic citizens of Hanna, Wyoming.

Over the last two weeks a special piece of legislation has been passed making it mandatory for anyone who receives welfare, or any other form of government assistance to be implanted with these new identification chips. Even select government employees and officials have been ordered to receive the new sub-dermal device, which is typically implanted in the fatty tissue of the individual’s buttock. Police officers, military, even garbage men will all be required to have the RFID chip by the end of next month or face termination from their jobs.

During the beta testing stage of this amazing new technological development, many news outlets have remained silent waiting to see how the trial pans out before reporting on the subject. National Report, always on the cutting edge, sent me on location to Hanna, Wyoming to speak with some of the towns folk and gather their opinions and experiences regarding their newly acquired RFID chips.

Tammy Josephine Laurence, a single mother of three who is currently accepting housing assistance got her chip implanted just hours before we had a chance to sit down and speak with her. She had the following to say:

“Well, they said I better do this, or they was gonna cut the welfare. I’m a full time single mother. I got three young kids that need me at all hours and ain’t no man to help. I didn’t have no choice…”

When asked if the procedure was invasive she informed us that it was “a little like giving blood” and that she felt “tired after getting the implant” which apparently is a common but benign side effect.

I also spoke with Hanna, Wyoming’s Mayor Ted Howell, whose full support of the RFID chip made it mandatory for the citizens of his small community. Leading by example he was the first recipient of the RFID chip , having it implanted publicly at a recent town hall meeting. “This is change for a better, safer America” he said while undergoing the ten minute procedure. “With this scientific advancement, the terrorists do not stand a chance… USA will prevail…”

The ordinance has had some opposition, however, as several of the local churches have spoke out against the chips with protests. These fringe apocalyptic churches believe Obama to be the anti-Christ and claim the RFID chip is the Mark Of The Beast written about in their Book Of Revelations. They site the RFID chip’s supposed serial number of 131618 as corresponding with Revelations 13:16-18. Of course, rural superstitions ultimately have no sway when it comes to the progressive new America and their scripture laden outcries have largely been ignored.

This journalist embraces the new change, and even got her very own RFID chip before heading back to the National Report’s home offices. The surgery was quick, simple and more or less painless. I can barely tell I’ve been implanted at all. A sacrifice I’ve gladly made for my country’s national security and hope you will too.
